Ken Blue is a Common Kentucky Bluegrass Variety*

The original Bluegrass lawn variety selection grows a grass that has the following features:

• Fine Bladed, Dark Green.
• Beautiful emerald green color.
• Good shade performance - Sunny or medium shade.
• Very fine-bladed turf appearance.
• Green year-round.

*Ken Blue may be labeled as common / VNS (Variety not stated) due to the requirements of some state agricultural regulations. Ken Blue is a basic Kentucky Bluegrass variety - There are many newer improved types that have better turf advantages (better color / texture / disease resistance). Ken Blue is primarily used because it is very economical in price and is used where turf quality is not as important.

Ken Blue is a practical lawn variety for general purpose use. --  Available in 50 LB sizes

Lawn Planting Rate:

• Lawns: New: 2-3 lbs. per 1000 sq. ft.
  One acre requires 90-135 lbs. acre.
  (110-330 lbs.@Hectare)
• Overseeding: Apply at about 1/2 rate - 3 lbs. per 2000 sq. ft.
• Germination takes about 21 days under proper growing conditions (temperatures / moisture).
