Galaxy Blend Kentucky Bluegrass Blend contains a mixture of 3 Turf type Bluegrasses along with 10%Perennial Ryegrass.  A mixture of premium Scotts Turf-Seed Kentucky bluegrasses and perennial ryegrass, this mix provides the best qualities of Kentucky bluegrass with the fast establishment of perennial ryegrass.  This mix is ideal in areas where seed wash-out is concern or where improved wear tolerance is a factor.  Other Blue Rye mixes often lean to heavily on the rye component which frequently out competes the slower establishing Kentucky blue.  Our Galaxy Plus adds just enough perennial ryegrass to achieve the benefits of rye, while allowing the blue grass to become the dominant species within the lawn.  Suitable for all areas where Bluegrass is well adapted, especially the cooler, dry arid areas from Colorado west.

Note: Varieties and percentages in this mixture subject to change due to availability for mixing.  A selection of top rated Turf Type Bluegrass varieties will always be used in this blend.  Usually contains no weeds (or very low percentage).

Soil, Climate and Fertility Requirements:

This blend performs well in sand or heavy clay soils, and like all bluegrasses, performs best in soils with a pH of 5.5 to 8.0. Three to five lbs. N (Nitrogen)/1000 sq. ft./year is adequate in most areas of the United States. However, because of Midnight's dark genetic color, lower fertilizer rates will yield acceptable color. A balanced fertilizer of 3:1:2 ratio of NPK (Nitrogen, Phosphorus, Potassium) with sulfur is recommended in most geographic locations.

Stand establishment:

Galaxy PLUS, like all bluegrasses, requires about 3 weeks for complete germination. Color may be observed before that time, however, in good growing weather where soil temperatures are above 65 degrees F., expect 3 to 4 weeks for a complete stand of grass.

Seeding Rates:
If Establishing a New Lawn: 2-3 lbs. per 1,000 sq. ft.
If Overseeding Your Existing Lawn: 2 lbs. per 1,000 sq. ft.
